I've been hearing about how much money you can make renting out a room for the Indy 500. Anyone know what you can charge for one bedroom? I was hearing $200 the week of on AirBnb

In Speedway it's a lot more than $200/night that week. Downtown is less--ranges from about $150/night to $200ish/night. Just depends if you rent the whole place or a room.

Do you need a permit from the city to do that?

Is your landlord cool with it? You need to trust your renters because if they damage your apartment, you'll be held responsible for repairing it.

They keep the leash tight on things like that in Austin. Not just anybody can rent out their house for a few days during an event that brings thousands of people to the city without the city's permission. The city is gonna get their take on it, you can count on that.

The city and my landlord isn’t going to know about it. I’ve done it a dozen times at least.
