I have a LINKSYS E1200 N300 WIRELESS ROUTER in my home. I am using all 1x 10/100 WAN connected to my modem and 4x 10/100 LAN connected to three rooms in my house and the last one hard wired to an apartment above my garage (roughly 80' away).

The WiFi signal does not reach the garage. Can I purchase a second LINKSYS E1200 N300 WIRELESS ROUTER and connect them together to give me wireless signal in the garage apartment? Do I need something different?

I am finding this terminology for Range extenders, Access Points, and Bridges a little confusing,

How do you plan to "connect them together"? Are you able to run an Ethernet cable to the second router?

Yes. I purchased a 100' wire and strung them between the buildings

If the power line is clean with no blockage(transformer...etc), you can also try Powerline Network Adapters.

I hope you have no thunderstorms or you have surge suppressors installed at each end of the cable.

The Garage is on it's own electrical account.
