Lately when I search on yahoo! or even google, especially google....results often are .au, co.uk
and a few .com

Why? and how do I get just United States results?

Do you have a UK ip address? Also what are you searching? Also you can go to advanced settings on google to specify a region Google Advanced Search . Make sure to click on that plus sign so you can get to the region setting, then input United States. Google does filter by country though, so people from different countries get different search results and this is done according to your ip address.

I wouldn't even know what kind of ip address I have....I'm in North Carolina with Time Warner Cable...never been to the UK.

But I'll try to change the settings on google. Thanks for the tip.

Can't figure out how to 'save' the 'United States'....or do I have to do this each time I search for something?

FWIW, you can find your external (visible) IP address at many different sites including this one:

What Is My IP Address - Shows Your IP Address

If you click the "IP address lookup" link on the left side (3rd one down), it should put your IP address in a form.

If you click on the "Lookup" button, it will then try to map your geographical location based on your IP address and the various public information repositories available for that address.

My IP address is out of the next major city beside mine, as I'm a small town/county.

Read a few forums where others have asked the same thing...so I'm not the only one...but no one answered them.

Just irritatating to do a search and half the responses are .uk or .au

Could depend on what kind of things you're searching for.

Well I still don't know what you are searching for. Also in the unlikely event you are using something like tor, it could be effecting your results. Also a cookie should be saved, so you shouldn't have to go to advanced settings everytime. Plus if you have a google account like youtube or gmail, then you could enter your searching settings for that account and that should help you.

I was asking the same question... in my search, why am I getting so many UK links on my search? I am north of Los Angeles, in Ventura County, California. I use google, bing and stupidly Pacific Clearing House searches (stupidly, cuz I never win anything anyway and I've been a customer since 1964!
