I am in my late 20s, and would like a beginner guide on how to build a retirement account and investment portfolio.

Are there any books out there which can serve as a primer?
I was thinking of something by Jim Cramer, but wanted your opinions.

this is what i started on. it's not an easy read, but it is extremely helpful.
