When I look at options listed for various stocks, only the most popular stocks have existing options with the premium prices and dates listed. So if I want to create a new option for a stock, how does that work? Do I place an order and my broker gets back to me on the premium cost?
For example, I'm interested in a certain stock but when I click on 'Options' on my broker's website, it says "No expiration dates".

If there have been no trades I have had to call our trading desk and have the symbol set up in our platform to be able to put the order in. If it's there with no quote you could just put in a limit order

It's FFH, listed on the TSE.
Actually, I just realized that some stocks aren't approved for options. Maybe that's why?

I've never traded equity options on a foreign exchange. I'd call your broker
