Elizabeth Warren is making noise about breaking up GOOG, FB , and AMZN. Amazon won't concern me as I still have never owned it (yep - missed the boat), but the other two I have traded, and in the case of FB, traded heavily. If I were a long holder of any of these companies I would have some concerns, and I'd be paying close attention. Thoughts?

I think the problem is not if socialists win in 2020 but what regulations are needed now and how will they affect these stocks.

Is this really a socialist thing? I don't see how.

I doubt there will be antitrust cases that would succeed in breaking up these companies. How would you break them up? Very different from cases in the past such as AT&T, IBM, and Kodak.

Cases I would go after are in healthcare. Hospital mergers and the pharmaceutical industry should be prime targets.

Looking around the forum I'm thinking TDS is being rapidly replaced by SDS - Socialist Disorder Syndrome. It's paralyzing people, who for the most part don't even understand what socialism is, or that we're actually a socialist country now. They just know they don't want change.

"Socialism" is anything a person doesn't like and wishes to demean, as Ambrose Bierce might have said

We are not a socialist country.

“Socialism: a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.”

Our country is not based on that model. Do we have social programs? Certainly.

AOC economics would actually be scary. Wanting to completely eliminate entire industries and having no economic understanding.

Warren, Bernie... I wouldn’t worry though.

I just hope this kind of rhetoric tanks them at some point so long as I'm not in them at the time.

I definetly wouldn’t own those stocks if any far left candidate wins. I’ll stick with SPY etc.

Aww, how cute. An American who thinks the Democratic Party is "socialist". You're evidently not familiar with European politics.
