I couldn't figure where else to put this question.

Long story short I filed my 2019 return a while back. Paid a small amount in taxes due using my newish checking account. For 2018 I had a small refund which I had the IRS send to a checking account which I have since closed.

Might seem like a silly question but since all the info I read says the IRS will send what I guess amounts to an ACH payment to the bank where they sent your REFUND is it safe to assume that the IRS will send the stimulus money to the checking account which I used to pay my 2019 tax bill?

On the 1040 I put down the routing and account number where I wanted them to pull my payment from and that is my current checking account. Filed electronically went off without a hitch they pulled the money within a couple of days.

So is it safe to assume IRS will send the stimulus money to the account listed on my 2019 return?

I would honestly direct these questions to The IRS as I don't believe a lot of people know how they monies will be distributed. I know that they are going on either your 2018 or 2019 tax return. I also know I'm not getting it lol

How long ago did you mail your return? I think when they process your return, they will add the stimulus money to it.

Per CNN filers that had their refunds direct deposited will get their stimulus the same way. Those that get refund checks will receive their stimulus as a check.
