I snapped up 262 shares of MSFT at $21.00 Friday with some play money, let's see how I do. I made $884 last week just on a whim by buying and selling TIE on Wednesday. So I'm feeling brave.

Futures are up, foreign markets are up, credit markets show signs of unfreezing, some progress was made over the weekend by monetary policy makers, US banks are closed, etc.

I'm not going to pronounce the selloffs over yet, but Monday at least could be positive. Anyone else placing short-term bets?

Bought an ultra S&P ETF... SSO on Friday. 2X the S&P index. I got in at 25.5 or so. It's 32 now. That's a whole lot of CD's for many years. Yes, it was a gamble. A calculated gamble. So far it's paying off.

Nice! 22.4% today for SSO! That was a beautiful move!

I'm glad I got out, but I'll be right back in if there's another steep drop.

I'm not bold enough to move IRA money around right now though. Just play money under $7500 or so.

Nepenthe,

I think the craps table in Las Vegas is the place for you.

As of this morning, it's 50% since the Friday purchase.

50%! I can take the rest of the year off and still be ahead.

Ha! Not really. Like you, it's with small investment amount. But I'll take it.

MSFT at 10X earnings is a pretty good deal. That's no Vegas.
