Me and three other friends are moving to Jacksonville in a couple of months and need some advice please. We are curious about the nightlife. What are some good activities, Clubs, or other things that may interest us? We are from a very small town in South Carolina and are ready to explore a bigger place! Where is the best place for us to live? wich side of town is the cheapest but also not too high on crime rate? Is it possible for us to find a decent place to rent thats reasonably affordable? close to town or would the country be best? And we all have High school Educations but no college. What are some good affordable community or tech schools? And what is our best bet on a finding a good job to start out with? I would appreciate the advice and opinions Thanks!!

FSCJ sounds the college you will want to check out. They have campuses all around Jax : Florida State College at Jacksonville

Younger people will gravitate owars the general Beaches area and the general Downtown area.

Do little searching on City-Data and you'll find your questions about nightlife already answered.

You can find a reasonable apartment/house for rent without extreme crimes issues on virtually all sides of town.

Probably San Marco or Springfield are the best areas to move to, if you can not get to those areas look into Atlantic Blvd, Beach Blvd or Baymeadows. Stay away from University Blvd & Philips Hwy. The Westside & Northside are complete danger zones for new comers so stay away. If you cant get in a nice area like Springfield or San Marco, try to get on the Southside..You may like Jax Beach, but it very far from everything.

I'd check out Riverside first and foremost.

Many, many young people.
