In planning a visit to Riverside Arts Market, I found out the S.S. Marine Taxi will cease their service at the end of April, 2013.

Does anyone know of any other water taxis that come and go from Riverside and The Landings.

Does anyone have any insight into why they stopped? Is it related to The Landings not being that popular and/or economic conditions.

Web site appears to be shutdown and phone not being answered.

There was an article about a month ago that mentioned the taxi company was giving notice it was ceasing operations. Also saw where the Riverside Trolley is cutting back..........seems like downtown is on the verge of a comeback ...........I really thought the water taxi was popular. Little things like these have a better impact than basketball on a navy ship

Yeah, they just weren't getting enough traffic to be feasible. There is a new cruise company starting operations for a dinner cruise on the river...not the same but still nice.

I think the water taxi was for profit & would better for everyone if that sort of service was given by JTA. It should be ran the same way the Buses & skytrain work, you pay a low fare to get where you are going.

Why should taxpayers subsidize something of little to no value?

It was sorta a secret set up, not many people in the city even knows it exist, so what you are saying makes perfect sense.
