We currently live in California and our three year old Autism Spectrum child receives very good services, both from the public school system and from private therapists. Our child is moderately affected by ASD, so we are currently working on speech and occupational therapy. Our child does not have behavioral issues and is actually pretty social, but only in small environments/groups and with people who are familiar.

As we consider a move to Jacksonville, I would love to hear opinions and recommendations for where to live so that we can access the best of the public school system as well as obtain services from private therapists.

Is there a particular elementary school that parents recommend? Do all of the elementary schools offer an ESE preschool class, or do only a few?

We are especially committed to Pivotal Response Therapy (a form of ABA) and so if anyone has recommendations on therapists, we would be particularly interested.

We are also interested in music therapy, so again, recommendations are welcomed.

Thank you.

My wife is an ABA therapist and would be more than happy to chat with you about the area and the various options. We have a 7 yr old on the Spectrum and moved to JAX largely in part to the services offered around the area. PM me and I can send you her phone # if you're interested.

I would highly recommend the kid go to a magnet fine art school in Jax and then get a very high quality up to par education and seek the therapy on the side
