You're in luck then! You'll be happy pretty much anywhere in the US nowadays...but you should seriously consider relocating to South Florida or Vegas. Those will be the spot for you!

It's proximity to mountains and pretty scenery like rivers and big lakes, and places like Savannah, Charleston, like others mentioned. Its much closer to these areas, than say, South Florida.

Decent change of weather, we do get some good frigid nights, but it can also be 80 degrees in December.

Wildlife and greenery. I love when hummingbirds come buzzing in like star fighter jets.

Rivers, lakes, marshes, and beaches.

The tourist traps of Florida are not far away, if that's your thing

Thunderstorms, never thought I'd miss-em, but been working in Germany since 2012 and I do.

Sunshine!!!!!!!!!

Yes! That has been another positive for me. We've been tracking the weather, and it's always 10 degrees warmer than central NC and 10 degrees cooler than where my in-laws are in South Florida! Not sure how summer will be, but if the trend continues, it will be more mild than South Florida. Central NC summer is already too much for me!

The (mostly) laid back atmosphere and people here. Never truly COLD no matter what these thinned skinned Floridians may claim. 40 degrees is not cold, people! Seems to have everything a big city would offer without the attitude that typically comes with that.

I also love that it's GREEN almost year-round.

Its get a lot colder than 40 degrees here in North Florida, although very short. I get your point though. Being cold or hot is a matter of one's opinion.
