HI, What are the best places to live around University of North Florida? I am looking for an area that has A schools, and is not too far from the university. Also, an area that has couples with young children. Safe area? Where should we look? What zip codes?
Thanks.

Default Woodland Station

32246-Directly behind Morocco Shrine, within walking distance to UNF and SJTC. Affordable homes from 180k-225k. I have lived in this neighborhood for five years and love it. Excellent location and friendly small town feel!

You didn't mention how old your kids are the areas ryde mentioned (32256- Hampton Glen, East Hampton, Deerwood Country Club, James Island) the elementary & middle Twin Lakes are both "A" school and there is a new high school scheduled to be built by 2010 right on the other side of 9A.

You could really go in any direction from UNF - the area is full of family-friendly neighborhoods.

I've been living in 32246, just a few minutes north of UNF (door to door, less than 10 minutes). The elementary and middle schools for this zip are A-rated, but the high school is not so hot. As Karla pointed out, a new high school is being built and the new boundaries will include some of the neighborhoods that currently feed into the high school for 32246.

There are lots of neighborhoods with new/newer housing in the $250k and up range, and older homes that can be found for a bit less, as JDPrecious pointed out.

The location is excellent with all the shopping and restaurants in the area and the beach is less than 15 minutes .

Knowing your budget and more specifics about the housing you're looking for can help us give you more detailed feedback.

So your zips that surround UNF would be:

32246
32224
32225
32256

All are nice zips where you should be able to find what you're looking for.

I second the Hodges Blvd area -- especially between JTB and Beach Boulevard. Glen Kernan, Jax Golf & CC, and Windsor Parke golf clubs are all there, along with several churches, restaurants, a Starbucks, and a Publix. Tucked in between all the country clubs are some affordable and nice family neighborhoods. I lived in one of the condo complexes there and loved the quiet, well-kept, family-oriented neighborhoods surrounding me. Search zip code 32224.
