I guess I will be one of those standing in line to renew our 2 vehicles today

lol will anyone else be "standing in line " ?

Here is a link that has web cams to the offices so you can see how long the lines are in case you plan on going

I actually bit the bullet last week to renew the registration on all 4 of my vehicles for 2 years to avoid the increase for a little while longer. It was certainly painful on the old wallet. Good luck in the lines today, I'm sure it will be madness.

I did the 2-year renewal, as well, about 2 weeks ago. Both our vehicles are in my name, so the renewal month is Sept.

well this wasn't one of my "brighter" ideas I headed over around 9:30 or so
Waited maybe 10 mins to get my number the clerk said 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait
Plus I could only renew 1 of the vehicles the cut off is November

So I go hang outside and strike up a conversation with a couple folks and then it dawns on me that there are 100 folks ahead of me for vehicle registration and this was after waiting about 30 mins
Then I calculated the 35% increase ($15) and decided that another 1 to 1/2 hour wait vs $15 and then the news vans showed up and somehow cameras always manage to find me so I left lol

Heaven help us if the camera snags you for an interview! I'm guessing they would have to edit down your responses quite a bit. LOL

You know what is pretty friggin' lame? When you go to the DMV web site to renew online (and avoid the lines), the system is down. It's been down ALL DAY! What good is operating a web site that allows for online renewals if you're not going to have it operational on the busiest day of the year???

jon I also tried the online way
I think that site is maintained by a 3rd party, at first it said they were doing maintenance then later it said due to "down due to excess inquiries" or somethign like that
