I'm in the travel industry (I guess you can figure that out from my name!) and I just got a job at a local hotel at the front desk. How soon can I or should I add this to my resume? Should I at least wait a few weeks maybe?
It depends. If you are already looking for a new job, I wouldn't add a job that I had been on for only a short time--it's a major red flag to a potential employer.

Actually I didn't realise your name meant travel company girl.......but what a strange question to ask....you've only JUST started this job and you're asking should I put it on my resume (which is usually used for finding a NEW position)
Unless you mean how soon after I start a new job should I update my resume...then anytime you want to.

I did get a new job and fortunately within the same industry, but not exactly what I've was looking for. My unemployment was about to run out so I figured I needed something while I continued to look. I actually really like this job and will probably stay here and move up within the company, hopefully. It turned out to be better than I expected, so I may have asked this too soon anyway.
If you are acquiring new skills that you can add to your resume' then you need to update your resume' asap and keep it handy. You never know who is waiting around the next corner. It may be 'iffy' to actually list the new boss as a reference but, I would, they hired you for a reason and probably a good reason at that.
