Getting Ready for onsite Interview?
I applied for a college program, and after my first interview with the recruiter she invited me to the company Hiring event ( last step in process). The company paid for everything, Hotel, Flight, and transportation. Not all students who apply for this program make it to the final round at the company HQ. Any advice on How I can stand out, and impress the Executives of the company? I'm really excited about this job. BTW I meet all the requirements of this job listed on the company website.
The day will be long, and will include a lunch, and Realistic Job Preview, and other events during the day.
Its for recent grads, and I meet all the requirements listed on the application.
Research everything you can about the company and executives that you may meet. Try to know something about how your role would play into the company's objectives.
Make sure your attire is straight.
Turn your phone all the way off and stick it in your laptop bag/purse/briefcase.
Listen.
Prep 5 questions about the role and the expectations.
The lunch is most likely part of the interview. It may be a more formal interview over lunch, or they may observe and see how you handle social situations.
Be friendly, positive, polite/nice to everybody. Ask good questions. Research the company. Have a good answer for WHY you want to work there as opposed to anywhere else. Dress appropriately (this has good suggestions: http://www.city-data.com/forum/fashi...interview.html).
You mentioned twice that you meet all of the requirements for this position. Realize everyone else is qualified as well (and it probably doesn't take much other than being a recent grad in a particular field) and being qualified/meeting requirements doesn't mean that much. It is about selling yourself and "I meet the Requirements" doesn't really sell you any better than anyone else.
