i agree. interviewers who offer you their business card without you asking are seeking a thank you note. this is only if it was obvious that the interview went well. if the interview went bad they may just be trying to wrap it up and get you out of there.

there is a big difference between "if an interviewer gives you their card without being asked, it is a good idea to send a thank you note" and "you should ONLY send a thank you note if the interviewer gives you their card without being asked".
