Ok, so long story short, after 3 interviews throughout a month, I finally received job offer from certain company. The company is located in different state so I did 1st interview via-skype, second interview in local office and 3rd interview at their headquarter(they sent me plane ticket). During my 3rd interview, they gave me a tour and gave me an verbal offer. However, HR manager told me they still have to run background check vaguely. I was a bit worried but next day, I received job offer letter so I signed it and sent it back. They want me to start work in 2.5 weeks and they told me they will cover my moving expenses and hotels for first few weeks. It's been 6 days since I signed letter but I haven't received any instructions or moving details(such as moving company info, hotel info etc). I am starting to get worried a bit. I wanted to call them but I don't want to look too desperate. I signed paper last Thursday and they don't work on weekend so I am still waiting. Does it usually take more than a week for them to arrange the stuff? I want to start packing but because I don't have any details of moving instructions yet so I am just waiting. Their requested work day is only 12 days away and I am definitely gonna need moving info by next few days so I can get there few days early and look for apartment. What are the chances for them to turn me down at this point? I have no criminal history, 0 driving tickets or point. My current credit score is good but I had my credit score ruined early last year and it took me 6 months to rebuilt my score. Would it cause me a job there? I don't have a debt and I am not going into financial position but as technician. Oh.. and my last salary wouldn't match to amount I wrote on resume because I started my current job as full time since last October and my tax report for that hasn't been updated yet. I didn't lie about my current salary but there could be some problem because my report tax report would show the amount of my tax paying from 2008 to 2011 only if they dig that far. I was in school from 2011 to 2016 summer so I have no tax history during that time because I only did part time and didn't make enough money to report tax. Would it cause a problem too?

The people I've know who had their moving expenses paid made most of the arrangements themselves.
Did you ask for specifics as to how your new company is going to address your move?
Nothing wrong with asking.
Congrats and good luck!

Well, sounds like you have an official offer in hand, but do not have the details of their relocation package? Contact the recruiter or hiring manager (whoever you have been in contact with) ASAP and let them know you need the finalized details and if your background is still pending; and you may need to extend your start date, if you can't find living arrangements. Most companies are either going to give you a lump-sum (specified by them) and you do all the contacting/hiring and logistics of the move. Others have relocation specialists who are given a budget to work with and will coordinate everything for you. You need to know which route they take (3rd could be they ask you to prepay and submit receipts).

Don't freak out- i've made a lot of out of state moves; everything will be fine. Good luck.

Most of the time the moving expenses are capped at a certain $ amount and you have to make all the arrangements.

I would call for clarification and wouldn't worry about being pushy since time is so short.

You can make it work. Once I moved to a completely different state with ZERO housing lined up and did everything in two days once I got there. It was chaotic, but doable.

Congrats on the new job.

You have an offer letter and a tight deadline. Stop being shy and waiting by the phone. It is ok for you to reach out to the HM and ask him/her who can give you the details on the relocation package.

Definitely reach out. Don't wait-- you don't have much time. It is very likely that they will give you a certain amount of money towards the move, but you are expected to make all arrangements and pay for the move initially. In any case, there is nothing wrong with asking. Congratulations on your new job!

OP- i see you made a post about moving, so congrats on the job! Wanted to tell you to try and reach out to your boss/co-workers on advice on places to live as well. I've done out of state moves and co-workers were the most helpful in knowing where's good/bad to live.

There is nothing desperate about calling your future employer to follow up about relocation details to clarify their instructions/policy. I have been fully relocated twice, and in both instances the employer made all the arrangements and provided detailed instructions/worked very closely with me on all of the move details. Both times were for large national organizations. If this is a smaller organization, they may handle it differently but you need to have the details in writing. I would be in touch on Monday if I were in your shoes.
