I am desperate to accept a good position in my field even if it means moving out of state and being homeless until I get money to get back on my feet. This is something I am considering . Now when I say homeless, I mean staying at rest stops in my car to sleep and chill after work. I am no stranger to living in my car temporarily as I do this when I traveled across the country a few times to save money not getting hotels every night.
Has anyone done this ? How did you tell the employer about it if asked your address on the application?
1. Get a mailbox at one of those UPS store contractor places. They have areal street address and you can just put "Apt" instead of "box" and your mail will still come through.
2. Get every account you can set up for email delivery.
3. Sign up for the introductory rate for a 24 Hr/Family/Planet Fitness place that'll be close to where you park your car.
4. If you can, and it's feasible, find a KOA campground or something like that and throw up a tent.
5. Pick up a crap job at a restaurant, you get one free meal a day and it'll fill time.
Your back will be a mess, so don't just use the gym for showers, do at least 20-30 minutes of cardio and stretching in the morning and at night - shower at night again before you get back in the car.
Spend a ton of time in the library reading and not sitting in your car watching crap on your phone.
As soon as you get your first paycheck, find a cheap crappy weekly motel so now you have a real bed and a real shower. Cancel the gym membership. If you've got room on a credit card, try to find an AirBNB that you can afford - this should give you access to cooking utensils. Your #1 expense is going to be food, stay away from fast food as much as possible.
Use the money from the crap side job as your deposit on a MTM room while you save for your own place.
Good luck - it's totally possible to pull off. In a month, you'll be in your own apt or roommate situation.

This is great advice. I did all this in a new area when all I had was a bare piece of land I bought. I couldn't get a restaurant gig right away but I tell you what. Group homes or something will behavior-problem kids are always looking for employees. They mostly end up with foreigners so if you speak good English...
and you'll get fed. The library is a godsend too.
