Not sure what this means but received a call today from the Employer that received my resume on 2/18/09 which was a month ago and the interview is on 3/18/09.
So I guess I'm wondering if the position was filled already or why such a long time to schedule a interview? Budget Reasons?
The posting may have been removed because of the cut-off date and the good selection of applicants who have been called for interviews. They probably want someone in place during the month of April if the interviews go well. Good luck and I hope you get the job.

Sounds like it because I was surprised salary was discussed over the phone which wasn't bad considering how tough it is to find a job these days. Salary is about $3000 lower than what I was making and it's a full time position with benefits and 20 min away from home.
It really is impossible to tell. Maybe they really didn't need someone right away or they expected the hiring process to take that long to begin with. I'm interviewing for a job next week that I applied to in DECEMBER.
Another possibility is that they filled the position once and for whatever reason it did not work out so they are now doing a second round of interviews to find another person.

Wow, December? Now I think that is real foolish.
After the call, I was trying to read the job description again the site but since it's gone I can't prepare my strategy based on what the description of the job was on the site.

That has happened to me... so now,
I copy the job description and paste it into my hotmail account with a descriptive subject line so I can find it later on...
Actually I do this with all of my email job replies...so I can keep track of who I have spoken to...this includes govt. jobs, and staffing agencies...
