Is this true? I was interviewed by three people the other day for a job and I sent two nearly identical thank you e-mails less than 24 hours after the interview (save for one sentence). The third I had previously had a phone interview with and so I hand drew and painted a thank you note for her.

Hand drew and painted? That seems a bit over the top, what did u exactly send?
If you did that for me I'd probably toss your application just for the ??? factor.
Well, I think it's kind of nice (eg. the effort put in shows dedication and heart or whatnot).
It's certainly no weirder than some of the other things people do to get hired nor any of the "tests" or hoops that those hiring make the candidates jump through.
In fact, it's refreshing I'd think to see something heartfelt (assuming this situation is indeed that way-- can't tell by context, but it'd be sweet if so) like a thank-you note in a time or place when so few things are.

I agree... but if it were me and I wanted to thank someone for an interview I don't think I would go quite that far. Getting a job is difficult enough in this economy, I wouldn't want to give them any potential reason to go "???" and cross me off the list.
Seems that everybody's assuming that this hand-painted thank you note was some major piece of art which took months in a garrett to produce.
