I think it is absolutely a factor.

I think that's a good choice. Both are great cities but Denver no doubt has a much larger contingent of singles and transplants from all over. Plus it's in a beautiful area.

Lots who try Denver alone did not like it. RENT! Is not very many females living there as they get stalked/harassed so badly, even female corporate transfers leave in a few months abandoning it. NO CRAP. IS THE DIRTY SECRET....REALLY. Some corporate offices even abandon the area after couple years for BIG companies... Only try Denver if you keep enough money to leave and might want to travel light like storing some stuff or sell most off. Can try to pickup online work for area and just visit longer-term......Females needed relationship to be treated okay in Denver or VERY WEALTHY. (Thus being said, you can understand why it pays to spend some time working on side-work using even Craigslist to get even EXCELLENT work/projects so you have multiple income source/consulting business income if you wish to have money free of one work location. If you don't like an area, is MUCH easier to just move on instead of stressing about the one-location job that won't let you telecommute and job hunting for another city to live in while tied down to bad job you hate back there...)

Lots of Colorado can be TERRIBLY unfriendly to 'workers' as they already have a ton of barely employed millennials who won't toe the line and do good, reliable work. These TEAR apart anyone who moved to Colorado with own work and able to pay their bills as just isn't enough money to deal with the crap the cops allow to happen even in small communities... The people with more money are not shown this and given a party and usually screwed with some kind of real estate scam when you do open your wallet. The local attorney just allows this scam, all these wealthies go dump rest of wallet to attorney who won't fix this kind of problem anyway and the wealthies leave broke.

I recommend keeping your old house 'back there' if you own it outright and just rent it out for a while to make sure Colorado is not a mistake. Some mountain internet off the towers is so hacked, may get you ruined for working online due to theft.

KC is more friendly and not as screwed up as long as you stick to newer neighborhoods - Johnson County/southward or Lees Summit MO/eastward are good. The entertainment spots and bar hops are near the hoods and can get into trouble with the druggies & bands of roving kids with 'no where' to go to do homework...JUST WALK THE AREA FOR HALF HOUR BEFORE YOU LOOK AT ANY APARTMENTS. IF ANYTHING OFF IS SAID TO YOU, DO NOT GET CONFRONTATIONAL. JUST MEANS YOU WON'T BE OKAY LIVING THERE. Meetup.com social groups are where EVERYONE IS...Is affordable and all kinds of activity groups, business networking and dating meetups. Match.com is GREAT TOO. Can easily find a person with some similar tastes, well written profile and smiling in photos but is bit harder to pick good females by these rules. Some are a witch, get her frustrated and check it out.. Smiling in pics/well written blurb is ALWAYS how to find good male match as long as girl's packaging is nice & pleasing kind. KC has OUTSTANDING employment market and lots of work available off Craigslist for persons who want to try doing own business or some *sshole at work got you into trouble and you need enough day work to pay the bills that month. Been there once, but isn't that much abuse in KC employment though but some of neighborhood's problems will scare the military away from Leavenworth KS/Independence MO. Do the 'walk' to see if anyone says anything off or you get group of kids threatening you and go when neighborhood is busy like weekends or nice evening. Otherwise, KC is ALMOST trouble free if you stay away from the blighted spots...and rent in newer areas outside I-435.

I'm not from the best spot which is 3 hours from KC. Things really are so stupid or cut-throat in smaller city, needed more than one place to live as 'investment' and spent most of your weekends on a second property getting to know the locals so you would have some place to go if someone screws you or you don't want anything more to do with place. Side business works the same...this places' employment screws too many people with no unemployment or no med leaves, your own 'business' is a relief after dealing with some of these scams. Craigslist has the ads from a lot of GREAT small businesses and even bigger, seen very little hostility or fighting. Side biz Is excellent end to work as a 'parachute' plus ability to pay 6 months of living expenses from your own savings without touching your retirement....

Best of luck!
