Today marks the second anniversary of the deadly tornado that hit Kentucky, wiping out my hometown of Mayfield. With a deadly tornado hitting not far from us in Tennessee yesterday, hitting Clarksville and Nashville among other places, brought back memories. We're slowly rebuilding. Groundbreaking for the new courthouse will be this Monday. Mayfield City Hall is getting the ground work done. Our church is waiting on final word from FEMA on what money we're getting. It will be years before downtown is rebuilt, but we're starting. For the second year, a large group of people walked from where the candle factory was, where several were killed, to the site of the courthouse in rememberance of those killed and injured.

I imagine this triggered PTSD in a good number of folks in the area.

I cannot believe it's been 2 years already. When I heard that Clarksville was bad, I immediately remembered Mayfield as well as Joplin and Moore Ok
