Seventeen-year-old Jasmine Anderson will be frying funnel cakes at Kentucky Kingdom this summer — part of an army of about 1,000 hired to staff the park that opens Saturday — and she's bringing a lot of expectations to the new job.

Kentucky Kingdom reopening means summer jobs

Glad to see it opening back up. Ex#2 and I took our sons there when they were little and had great time. Hope the new owners get a deal going with the (I think) Executive Inn across the highway. When we went we got 4 tickets and a room for 2 nights for not a lot more than the 4 tickets normally cost.

The old Executive Inn was completely demolished. The Executive West was gutted and remodeled and is now a Crowne Plaza--they do have package deals with KY Kingdom as the owners (Mary Mosely) were instrumental in helping revive KY Kingdom.

Expect an announcement in the fall for another large hotel, a convention hotel ,for that area in the fall. It should be open by 2017.

OK, thanks, Peter. Executive West is the one I was thinking of. That's where we stayed. Funny part was, with the old KK, we liked Holiday World a lot better.
