West Greene Shopping Center is retail center located on Asheville Highway near the southeast corner of East Vann Road in the City of Greeneville, Tennessee. It is anchored by Food City #608.

Food City #608, 509 Asheville Highway, Greeneville, Tennessee 37743-4669:
The Greeneville Regional Planning Commission approved preliminary plans for Food City #608 to expand. Expansion plans have existed since 2012. Plans call for expanding the store by over 13,000 square feet, adding two pumps to its Gas N' Go fuel center, and relocating the loading dock.

Food City #608 does not have a pharmacy. Atchley Drug Center (511 Asheville Highway, Greeneville, Tennesse 37743-4669) is located adjacent to Food City #608's D-side (southwest side).

I do not know if Food City #608 will be expanding into Atchley Drug Center's space or on the B-side (northeast side) where the loading dock is located presently, and if it will add a pharmacy.

In several of their Virginia stores including Coeburn, St. Paul, and Marion, Food City has included a community pharmacy into their store. They have their own sign in the store and they're not listed on the food city website as being a food city pharmacy. I have no idea about the contract that's involved, if they're renting space on the food city floor or if Food City is a partial owner, but it's an interesting arrangement. I have no clue if they're planning this with this store in Greneville, but it makes me think Atchley Drug might join the expansion as a part of the new renovation.

Food Lion and Lowe's Foods leased store space to The Medicine Shoppe prior to launching their pharmacy operations. Food City may have not been the only supermarket to include an independent pharmacy in its stores years ago.

The inclusion of a pharmacy at Food City #608 could boost sales and increase business and ValuPoint redemption with Gas n' Go.
