Okay, quick question for everyone here...

When trying to calculate estimated property taxes, are there any... "hidden" taxes that knox county residents pay? For example... take a 100K house... the property tax rate for that should be around $700/yr, correct? Is that the total "bill" by the government? Or are there additional taxes that knox county residents pay such as a fire tax, school levy tax, etc. that are *not* calculated in that rate? (I believe that the Knox County property tax rate is something like $2.69 per $100 of 25% of the assessed value, so that $2.69 rate is what I'm talking about)

Can anyone help me out here?

The only other tax you pay is an annual fee to Rural/Metro which provides ambulance/EMT service in rural Knox County. When I lived in rural Knox County it was something like $120/year.

There are no additional school taxes or personal property taxes.
