I know it was suppose to be sold this summer at an auction and I believe that "aroma" has gone down but what is the latest on this farm? Are the pigs and the smell still there? Where are they moving to? Any plans in the future for that site?

Here is the thing about the NLV pig farm: As a relative newcomer to Las Vegas -for just over a decade everyone knew about that it existed. As a young military officer back in the 1980's here for numerous Red Flag exercises, when the pig farm was far, far out in the desert it smelled then and it smells now.

Years later when homes were built nearby, why did buyers not do their due diligence? Everyone knows that NLV is best avoided at all costs. Actually, my attitude is to avoid living anywhere north of Cheyanne or east of Durango Drive. This includes literally anything north or east of the 95, it may not all be in NLV but it is all in serious decline. Further west, Centennial Hills is starting to become the same thing. The pig farm may be moving in time but the pigs will still live in the area.

Buyers beware.

That North 5th area is nicer than 85% of Las Vegas IMO. I wish I bought a house to rent there in 2008-2010. New freeway ramp and bridge going up between Aliante and N 5th. New planned community going up right there too.

Anything north of Craig is nice and your post is very untrue and off topic. Obviously you don't know much and never heard of Aliante. I can think of huge areas of Las Vegas that are not as nice but I don't see you mentioning that but instead you're talking trash for NLV.

Painting with a wide, uninformed brush. Much as the person you are criticizing.

Not everyone can live in Summerlin South in one of the best communities. However that said, Aliente has been ruined by the crash bringing in a lot of transient renters and the same goes for Providence- Centennial Hills. There is a pretty good car wash on Craig - Decatur, but the area surrounding it is a dump. As stated before, avoid anything north of 95 and east of Durango. Previously, I lived in the county island rural estate zone max 2 homes per acre between Ann and Lone Mountain. The area has started to slip and seeing more and more criminal activity, continuing issues with the unfinished beltway, questionable spot zoning and a general real estate stagnation. Now, if Walmart, Smith's and Albertson's and "Fast Food Blvd" is your kind of lifestyle go for it.

And what makes you the judge and high society representative? What does this have to do with the pig farm?
