Hello everyone, my husband is in the casino business here in Louisiana and is thinking of transferring to a casino in Las Vegas. I am currently in school for medical coding and billing and graduate soon. I have never been to Las Vegas so I was wondering what it's like there. He would be guaranteed a job if we move but I don't know what the outlook in health care is like there.

There are a good bit of Medical Coding jobs out here. Im not sure about the pay though. A friend of mine just graduated and he will start out making about $11.00 an hour.

Did a quick check on Craigslist and notice a couple of listings.las vegas all jobs classifieds "medical coding billing" - craigslist

Some jobs listed at $16.00 an hour. Maybe thats with experience.

Slightly off topic but is this ad saying the pay is $18,000 to $25,000?! If so, they have to be kidding me.
Medical Billing/Business office Manager (http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/hea/1821350423.html - broken link) If one is paid bi-weekly $25000.00 comes out to approx $12.02 per hour but I suspect this position is exempt from overtime so the actual pay would be even lower.

It says 18-25 which can be $18.00-25.00 an hour or $18,000-25.000 a year...

With all the qualifications that the ad says is needed makes me think that its the hourly option. Hopefully.

An hourly rate would make more sense.
