I'm old school but I love the area for concerts:

Have seen Styx and Foreigner twice over at Mandalay, Starship at Cannery, Def Leppard at Mandalay. If I had more time I would see tons of more concerts at MGM, going to try to see Journey and Foreigner on October 8.

Let's see -- since moving here four years ago I have seen, wow, about 100 concerts.

Highlights include: Steely Dan, the Eagles, Alan Parsons, Parliament, The Doobies, Funkadelic, P-Funk, The Police, Elvis Costello, Eric Johnson, Satriani, GoGos, Wang Chung, Joe Jackson, Dick Dale, Ratt, Poison, Motley Crue, Blondie, B52s, String Cheese, ZZ Top, Scorpions, Cinderella, Styx, REO Speedwagon, 38 Special, Yes, James Taylor, Carole King, Asia, Jimmy Buffett, Weezer, Al Stewart, Trans Siberian Orchestra, and Morris Day and the [mutha-censored] Time.

There are dozens more, but it's all a blur.

Coming up? Iggy and the Stooges and Steely Dan again. I never miss Steely Dan at the Pearl.

Front row, or close to it for most of these. Price? Negligible. Go to enough concerts and it's like being a Platinum casino member. I get to buy tickets a couple weeks before they go on sale to the general public.

That's not the tour I saw.
The one I saw at Thomas and Mack was the ...And Justice For All tour.
That was the last of the good music they did.
Damn...I was a teenager then.

Check out Jambase. It's a good website to find the COOL shows in any area. Concert Tickets, Reviews, Concert Tours and Live Music Shows. Go See Live Music > JamBase

Excellent. This is a perfect example of the type of concerts I was hoping for.

Thanks everybody!

Kick ass site. A quick look at Vegas concerts - Ben Harper, Janes Addiction, Smashing Pumpkins, The B-52's, The Misfits...Pretty good mix.

The problem with jambase is that it only scratches the surface of what's going on. You're not going to find any free (or dirt cheap) concerts on Jambase.

I use Las Vegas Area Concerts and the Neon insert in the newspaper, and the weekly magazines for finding concerts. And occasionally, I'll see one on a billboard.

Another good site. It shows Deadmaus playing on Sept. 2-3. And thats not even a cheap/free show.

Says I have to spread some love before I can rep you again.

And the other tribute groups as well!!!
