Can only speak from personal experience as a non resident. Had the need for medical services during an extended vacation stay. Had great success and service from:

For urgent care sevice - Procare Medical Center

For emergency room and hospital care - Las Vegas Hospitals - Hospitals in Las Vegas - Spring Valley Hospital

Real sick or hurt bad? There is only UMC.

Just sick or broken arm? Mountain View/Summerlin other side St. Rose.

Mountain View features their ER..

Many of the others are fine as well. Ask around the neighborhood.

If you can get there before you die, UMC. If not go to the nearest one. But keep in mind you won't get very good service at Valley Group Hospitals like Valley or Desert Springs, although I was well taken care of at Summerlin on one occasion. For heart problems, Sunrise is the most well equipped, but UMC is still best for most emergencies. Mountain View saved my bu*t once, but nearly took it back during a subsequent operation.

Valley/Desert Springs has always advertised they are best for cardiac "events", but when I took them seriously I found out not so much. First of all, I sat in the waiting room (unheard of for heart issues) for about an hour before I got to an exam room. Then I waited half the night for a doctor to show up. Fortunately it was nothing, but I was recovering from by-pass surgery and was having symptoms.

On another occasion, I was having extreme pain in my mid section; called my gastroenterologist who told me to meet his partner at Valley. That was about 9:00 or 10:00Pm maybe. I was the only patient in the ER all night, and the three or four ER attendants sat around ALL NIGHT doing absolutely nothing while I was practically screaming in pain. It was so bad I could lay down, and I was so exhausted I couldn't stand up. So I stood bent over the gurney all night waiting for a doctor to show up. He came in about 6:30 or 7:00AM, took an ex ray, came back and said you have to have gall bladder surgery right now. So now I'm gall-less.

I'd never go there again if I could help it.

FWIW, my wife and I are using St Rose Sienna for her delivery of our first baby. It is close to the house and all the extended stay rooms are single occupancy. She spent a night there at about 22 weeks due to a diarrhea issue and all the nurses were great and the rooms are huge. We should be spending another 3 nights there starting Jan 4 as that is when the C section is scheduled...

That said, in an "real" emergency I'm going where ever the paramedics take me. For other after hour issues my wife and I have like to use Concentra Urgent Care on Russell and I-15. They seem to be much less busy than an ER or normal Urgent Care. We are normally in and out in under 2 hours.
