I'll be there soon. First thing I need to pick out is my flooring. I am looking for a large 18 to 20" slate look tile. I don't want real stone, but a good imitation porcelain. Can anyone give me any recommendations where to try that has a good selection of the newer tiles? A good price would be nice, but right now I'm looking for a good selection.
Do they have any "tile row" areas there. By that I mean where a bunch of tile stores gather together in one location on the same block. Any such animal there?

Check out Flooring America on Pecos and Sunset. I believe it's just north of sunset on the Pecos side.

What ever pattern or design you choose, be sure to get at least 2 extra boxes to have as replacements. Most patterns get discontinued and also the dye lots can vary considerably. I even get an extra bag of the grout. That way I will have some extra and also will know the brand and color number if I need more down the road.

Floor and Decor in Henderson. Go there first. Shop around, sure. But go there first. Betcha $1 that's where you end up buying your tile. We bought 1,500 sqft of fossilized travertine at F&D for $2.25/sqft. The next-cheapest place was charging quadruple.

And I cannot agree more with buying a few boxes extra. You'll never find the same tile again because dyes change.
