Greetings from Boston,

I am moving to the Las Vegas area, and will be working at Sunrise Medical Center. I am looking for a furnished studio or 1 bedroom condo/apartment in a safe area, I do not mind driving a good distance, just want it to be safe while I explore where I will buy a house if everything works out. I am looking for something between 3-6 months. Any help would be appreciated. I would like to keep it under $1000 a month. I am moving in mid May. Thank you everyone for your help.

furnished in a safe area under a grand is going to be tough... even the weekly joints will be minimum $180 a week and those are not in good areas.. i think you are going to have to set your budget much higher... 1300-1500. furnished is the key.. your other option will be to rent a room in a house but who knows who your roommates will be..

Las Vegas Extended Stay Hotels | Extended Stay America

We get this question all the time, but no good answers. Short-term furnished rentals, unless you are willing to pay big bucks, are scarce.

lots of weeklies claim they're furnished, but they make u go out and buy sheets, pillowcases, blankets etc.

that certainly isnt MY idea of furnished. and most arent safe either, the ones that are safe are about 2-3 times the price.

any recommendations convenient to the strip bus, the spring mountain bus, or the flamingo bus?

The Extended Stay America on Valley View isn't too far from the Flamingo bus line.

Look on AirBnB and VRBO (Vacation Rentals By Owner). I did 5 months in a furnished place around $1500/month and that was in a 3BR place. You can get a studio in a decent area for less. My landlord was extremely easy going and he owns multiple places in a gated community as well as a few others. DM me if you want further details.

Hi cowherjaw,
I live in my home at Sunset\Whitney Ranch, Green Valley. A quiet area. I know the area is quite safe and Sunrise is off of Md Pkwy at DI. I'm a good 20 min. away I head down the highway 95, I exit Bd Hwy and loop back under the freway onto D.I. then a good ten minutes if traffic is heavy for the last 4 miles.

The best place to stay in that area is south of D.I.(Desert Inn). And I don't like the areas east of Md. Pkwyand north of DI for living unless you find some nice spots. This area is old Vegas and some of the houses are small matchbox type to older large homes needing some makeovers. The neigborhoods have seen a turnover in the last 50 years. Close to Sunrise on the North side of DI but south of Sahara are small condo complexes that are not bad but old and cramped, owner occupiers working the strip casino jobs alot of commercial area here, again not so residential but probably cheap and availble for your situation.

I lived on this side of town for 15 years first, but starting closer to Tropicana a couple miles south of DI and moreresidential, it is east of Sunrise. Not bad, but now getting older and still changing. Stores closing in someof this area and tatoo places and tint shops openning, no new development but no where to build. Grocery stores sees a different demographics and so on.

Hi, and thank you, but I am not the person looking for assistance. I imagine if OP ever returns they may find your post helpful though.
