Hi I am moving to the vegas area with my mom & 14 year old son. I want to make sure we move to a nice area low crime rate also somewhere with jobs. I am from kansas & this past winter has been so bad for my asthma I been having ton of breathing problems doc said in her 15 years she hasnt seen so many ppl with breathing problems. Now may son at the age of 14 now has asthma & both my parents who are 52 now also have asthma. This has now been my push to move. I been wanting to move to the southwest for awhile I am beyond sick of cold snow, ice stroms etc. If anyone could please help me on which areas to stay AWAY from it would be helpful I heard north vegas is a bad area. I am coming in july to look for a place could u please point which way to go thanks for ur time

Stay in Henderson, and you will be fine. The problem with Vegas is that it is a mixed bag, however, I would say anything near Red Rock Casino is very good.

I heard the area around Boulder Highway in Henderson has some cheap housing and is very "safe".

north las vegas is fine... north of craig, west of 15...

incidentally, a lot of peoples' asthma gets worse here due to the dryness...

and with a 14 year old? there is no way in heck i would move here.. not with these schools!!
