Probably not. Ever look at a builder's contract? Generallly protects against anything short of abandoning the job.

Refusing to close till the house is complete is your only 'Ace in the Hole'. Seems logical to me not to close till it's done!

If you have a loan on the home, lenders don't close until that home is done and habitable. Did you have a realtor when you purchased this home. If so you need to get your buyers broker involved to help you. Contract for builders do have a lot of things in them that are geared more for the protection of the builder, and if you didn't read it fully and understand it your realtor or an attorney should've looked it over before you even signed it. Be careful of backing out read your contract again to see what are your rights if you were to back out now. There's a chance you could loose any money you put down or more.

Consult a lawyer! I am guessing we are not attorneys and what ever you read here is only logic and common sense, but that is NOT legal advise, which is what you are seeking.
