Can play tight at a poker table for 3 hours, don't call big bets unless you have a big hand, bet when you have something and you won't risk more than $200 and should be at least a small winner over time. This is a good deal for tight poker players as the usual comp rate is so lousy.

If you know how though you can just buy diamond status. Much easier and faster ;-)

That is better than spending $10 on a video poker machine which will also get you a free drink..worth most of the ten dollars?

delgadobb has been around a while and is not the sort to waste dollars...;

As another poster pointed out, you aren't spending $250; you are risking $250. I work near the Rio and really like their buffet. I go there for lunch a couple of times a month and play slots for about 15 or 20 minutes when I do. When the Rio was running this deal in December, I played for my allotted time, got my 50 points, won $300, and got a free meal. Not bad.

Sure, that's another option too. I've been known to sit at a LV bar, play VP rather slowly and drink far more than just the $20 that goes into that machine.

The blackjack game on the machines is brilliant for this. Can play for 25 cents a hand and act like you are tortured on if you should take a hit for at least 30 seconds and if you lose curse at the machine and your luck. Bartender will think this guy really needs a drink

I got the best deal at a casino. I cashed my check, got a free gift. Went to collect the gift. It was a 6 pack of beer.
Didn't spend a dime.

Except a lot of people would have to pay a $10-12 a month fee for not doing direct deposit these days. I am sure the casinos have to step up their paycheck game to make it worthwhile.
