or any of them, if you were me - a middle aged woman with two small, old dogs.

Tripicana and I-15 at the south end of the strip,

2 on Boulder Highway. anyone with personal experience or with an opinion by way of knowing the neighborhood?

I like motel 6 because no fee for dogs (when I google dog friendly most come up with a hefty fee) and often no carpet, which I think is much more likely to be clean.

so that's what I'm looking for in the Vegas area; my preference would be something quieter in Henderson so something.

thanks for any advice and what else do you need to know? I'm hoping to go the week before Christmas so it's really short notice, sorry.

I stayed at the one on Trop for a full week when I first moved here. It was fine.

I have stayed at the one right off the strip a couple of times with my dogs. It was fine. The area is a bit sketchy, but I never felt unsafe or that I was in danger. It was handy to walk across the street to MGM Grand and hop the monorail. Dogs can be left in the room for short periods as long as they are kenneled; always use the Do Not Disturb sign, too. In other areas I would think you would be more than fine.

For that matter, I have stayed at many Motel 6 properties over the years and have never had an issue. The rooms are no frills but most if not all have been remodeled by now, and I agree, the no carpet thing is much better for pets!

Dean Martin Dr location would probably be the newest building.

Boulder Hwy location would be LAST on my list. Boulder Hwy frequently makes the news and never for anything at all positive.

safe travels. motel 6 was a hit or miss for me, half were horrible, half were a bargain for the price. If you need a pet friendly place, check out Holiday Royale if you are staying more than a week.

I too have occasionally stayed at Motel 6s due to the
no-BS dog policy, though I've never stayed at any of the LV area ones.

I agree that this Motel 6:

https://www.motel6.com/en/motels.nv.las-vegas.1324.html
should be the safest out of the three, due to location, but that
location is also such that you wouldn't be walking to the LV Strip
taxis/Uber/Lyft are very convenient in the LV area though).

I've been to the one on Tropicana near Las Vegas Blvd at night
around 9PM, and it's pretty dark & scary towards the back, plus as others
have said, not a great area, especially at night -- there are predators on
the hunt. But if you do want to wander around the LV Strip, this is the most
convenient one for you. FYI, I was there to return a feral cat after it'd been
spayed -- there is a feral cat colony there.

I think the most likely threat is someone breaking-into your
car. After that, it's being mugged after dark as you're outside
in the vicinity of the motel.

I totally agree that pretty much NOTHING good occurs on Boulder
Highway, especially after dark.

I'm a dog lover (with several elderly dogs) & also a local. If I can help you & your doggies out somehow, PM me soon & I'll pass on my email & phone #. I usually just log-on to this web site once a month, but will check back in a week.

Another option might be Red Roof Inn where pets stay free, too

that makes sense, Big City and all - and not what I should try despite the lack of carpet. I wish NO CARPET was more common, they all must be filthy.

I actually don't care if I go see The Strip as I've been there before. now I am looking at the area near Red Rocks.

I appreciate people's input!

*not finding the various google search on "dog friendly" are helpful.
