Hi everyone,

My husband and I are planning a move to Henderson in the next year. We have been looking at homes in Green Valley Ranch and Seven Hills per the feedback we have gotten on this forum in the last year or so. We did a scouting trip a few months ago and really liked both of those areas. Being back home, we started to really look at houses and found a few that we really liked in Westgate. Does anyone live there or know about this area? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Westgate is I think a neighborhood in Henderson which is mostly Seven Hills and a couple of surrounding tracts. Mostly people there will claim to live in Seven Hills even if they don't. Second nicest neighborhood to Anthem I think in Henderson.

I am mildly skeptical that anyone actually claims to live there...but perhaps.

Thank you for the reply, I appreciate it. We looked at Anthem too. I don't know if it was the time we were driving around or what, but it seemed congested up there compared to other areas.

Depends on where. Get into the Anthem Country Club and things are pretty well spaced. And there are places in Seven Hills that are quite tight.

And get into some of the mildly older places north of the 215 and things are pretty nice. The only big problem with Anthem is getting down off the hill. It can be a pain however you do it. Seven Hills orea is much easier.

And be aware that much of the really nice housing is in the gated communities.

If you really like space you can go a little further west to the west side of the airport. Lots of sprawling places out there with a half acre or more. Some of those are in the County though embedded in Henderson. There are also some half acre tracts on the east side of Henderson.

I will check those areas out. Thank you so much!

There is potential for confusion regarding Westgate. Most people will think of Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino (actually, it is a timeshare) that used to be LVH hotel, the Las Vegas Hilton, and The International hotel. This is on Paradise @ Elvis Presley, across the street from Turnberry Place.

I've never heard anyone refer to the area in Henderson to which you refer as "westgate."

Going west on Serene between St. Rose and Eastern, there is a "Westgate" sign. According to Google Serene is the northern border of Westgate. It might just be the name of the tract there, I don't know. Anyway, that part is made up of large lots, many vacant, many new development and many old houses. Very different from lower parts of Westgate which looks like a huge area; Westgate, Henderson, Nevada Zip Code Boundary Map (NV)

It may stick on that area but I don't see it working for the rest. That stretch south of Serene between St. Rose and Eastern is half acre zoned. And the strangest part is that north of Serene to the 215 is in the county while south is in Henderson.

I think it is a Henderson thing. But I doubt it will work. Seven Hills however is Seven Hills. Not likely to change in the perception of residents.
