We will be moving in to 89149 NW Las Vegas soon.

Looks like options are Cox, Century Link and Direct TV.

I'm a retired Audio/Video professional. I want good quality A/V hardware and service.

Been using XFINITY in Florida and it's good.

I could do Cox or Century Link for Internet and Direct TV for TV.

I've had Direct TV before, pretty good hardware. Don't have to worry about rain outages much in LV I assume.

Hit me with your opinions.

Many thanks.

I have cox for cable and Direct TV. Both work as advertised for me, but they are expensive. I like the wireless boxes for the direct tv, as I just move the box to different tv's and I don't need as many boxes. As I've had direct since the early 90's, I was surprised to have a few rain outages over the last year that I wasn't used to where we came from, so they do happen, and usually at inopportune times...

you can get quality, speed, and low cost, but can only pick a maximum two of those 3. That being said, Cox would be best for you I believe, since you want decent quality. Direct tv is hit/miss sometimes.

Unless you are in some area, which I have never heard of in 89149, where you can get fiber service from Century your internet choice is Cox or Cox. For cable Direct is very popular in the area by the sports lovers. Cox is adequate though a little expensive.

Your choice for internet is Cox, Cox, or Cox.

Cox A/V hardware is antiquated, several generations behind DirecTV.

After a year with Cox, I switched to Direct TV. Thus far, very pleased with the results for the past 2 years.

May consider looking into Centurylink for internet.

The issue with CenturyLink is that it is DSL, and there are wide variations in speed depending upon where you are located.

IMO DirecTV blows Cox out of the water in terms of TV service. Better picture, better interface, lower price. In almost 20 years of service, I have had a weather-related outage twice with DTV.

Their "up to 1 gig" package is available for my address. It looked quite appealing, as it cost less than what I am paying now for Cox. Their "price for life" looked great, as well.
