one night, many years ago.....I climbed into a taxi near the Arch D' Triomphe in Paris....and told the driver. "Notre Dame" and hurry. [wanted to get there before the lights were turned off.]

I never complained about Las Vegas drivers again

I'm driving on the expressway put on my blinker to get in the other lane. I had enough room to just jump over but I generally choose not to do that without a blinker. SO I put on my blinker and IMMEDIATELY the other driver speeds up. Now that I'm used to ... but he sped up so he could put on his blinker to jump in front of me!!! LOL That is the dumbest thing!!
IF I wanted to get in your lane and you obviously wanted to get into mine WHY speed up so I can't get over only to jump in my lane?? Of course this causes the domino effect which means I have to wait until the cars who were behind you speed up too BEFORE I can get over!!

Las Vegas drivers are fearless, brave. and reckless. They take chances that I have never seen taken by drivers in any other city.

I also notice that people run red lights a heck of alot here!!! I see people zooming through lights even after they've been read for a while. I now NEVER go as soon as my light turns green. In Ohio we had the red light cameras so this didn't happen that much. I notice cameras on the lights here but they never flash and people don't seem to care about running lights. Do the cameras work??

A big fat +1 to this. With the advent of in car navigation, as well as the availability of mapquest and other internet websites for directions, there really is not excuse to not know where you are going with the exception of being unfamiliar with the city. I would also like to point out that we do allow U-turns out here, and most streets interconnect so if you miss your turn there are other ways of getting to your intended destination without blocking up 3 lanes of rush hour traffic.

Also, don't cut me off and then drive 20 miles an hour below the speed limit. Definitely don't honk at me when I go around you. For some reason it's always bus drivers that do this to me, not smart when I am driving a double axle dump truck with 30,000 lbs of heavy equipment behind me and you are driving a school bus full of children (I swear this actually happened about 3 years ago). As a matter of fact, you probably should not cut off a heavy truck regardless of what you are driving. Drivers don't brake early so you can jump in front of them at the red light, they do it because they have to.

Don't worry about it...during the next economic boom time, I'm sure some casino mogul will think of building a casino/hotel based on that theme, complete with a 1:14 replica.

That's probably me slowing down to read my nav unit or check my Mapquest paper!

Seriously though, the way I insure that I hit all the greens is to NEED a red to read my maps! It works everytime.

I drive Eastern all the time and it can get very congested. I really don't see the running red light thing too much except when my husband does it. I do some some nutty things but no worse than Hall Road in MI.

Let's face it, there are just some ignorant drivers out there.

I thought we were parked most of the time. Took two hours to go 49 miles. We do that here in 30 minutes. But I take back what I've always said about New Yorkers. I've always said they weren't really rude and unfriendly. And now I can add dangerous at any speed.

There are no Vegas driver. There are unruly "transplants from everywhere else" inconsistent drivers - deal with it.

they are for traffic conditions only, in NV it is against the law for the cameras to be used to catch red light runners...
