I'm new to the state and have to get my car registered as such. Are the smog check stations what I need to get an emissions report? Or do I need to go to an oil change place? Whats the easiest thing to do. I'm on of tropicana in between Decatur and Jones if that will help. Thanks guys

Most Oil Change places can smog your car or you can visit one of the Smog check stands around town. They will print out a paper that you will need to take to the DMV to show that your car has passed a smog inspection. That paper is the same no matter where you go. Most places charge between 19 and 32 bucks. Some offer a refund if your car fails the test.

There is a place on Decatur just south of Tropicana that will do it for you. It is one of those little booths, pretty inexpensive and takes 5 minutes. There are many places that will do it for you, but that one is likely the closest and quickest.

One other place near you is on Trop just east of Arville, near the Orleans. I think I paid $15.99 there a few months ago.

If your trip to the DMV goes fast, it's a great day to place some bets, 'cause you're the luckiest person alive.

New law on the books for 2010 makes tampering with emissions hardware a felony with mandatory 5 year minimum sentence. Have fun in the pen. I think I hear the authorities knocking on your door now.

I find that any Terrible Herbst is most convenient and the price is fair. The report is transmitted directly to Carson City via the internet. It's no big deal.

All sites submit electronically, but not for cars not registered in Nevada yet.

Get used to it, so stupid they make you do this every year in Clark County. I mean really a 2009 car is suddenly going to fail a smog check once it hits 2 years old?
