Hi All ,

I have a GC since 2012 , I got a job in Dubai based Emirates Airlines

Salary , Benfits are attractive

My Question is

I must decide now , Whether to stay in Dubai and lose my US residency status

or leave this Job and move permenantly to USA , I want to move to USA but have concerns about

- I will move without a job in hand and dont know when i can get one

- Even if i find a job , will its salary be enough to mainatin good living

if you were me , how will you decide

Depending oh your country of origin, an American green card can give you some really nice privileges and can eventually lead to citizenship.

It doesn't guarantee you employment, though. This is a very subjective issue which only the OP can decide for himself.

In the long run nothing guarantees employment. In bad economic times anyone can get laid off. And there is a lot more to life than a job that you are currently happy with.

a GC grants PERMANENT residence, if you haven't taken it up you may be deemed to have abandoned your status. It gives you the right to RESIDe here not come and go ad hoc

If money is important to you, then take the job with Emirates. From what I've heard, you'll probably be rich. If money is not such a big deal, take your chances over here. It's not so great here in a lot of ways, not what it's cracked up to be.

it's harder to get a GC in the US than finding a job elsewhere.
