Last year, tuberculosis increased in four of the Bay Area's five largest counties, and the San Jose area in 2006 had the highest TB rate of any large American metro area, according to data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the California Department of Public Health.

All these people with H-1B visas from India, Pacific Asia, etc. are bypassing health screening -- yet another price to pay for corporatist greed. We can only hope that all the greedy employers who fire Americans and hire these foreign nationals get a good dose of imported TB -- call it marginal justice.

Free trade, nothing you can do about it. They should screen these people thoroughly before letting them come here. I went to Costco in Mountain View 2 weeks ago. I have never seen more Indians or Chinamen in my life. I felt like a lonely bean in a sea of curry and noodles. (which I both love.. mmm spicy).
