Yeah right...you guys have made your bed (voting in downstate/nyc region politicians across the board who only care about NYC and make statewide mandates that only benefit the city) and now you must lie in it. If anyone gets to break away from NYS it's Upstate NY. Talk about taxation without representation.
But again, it's a pipedream for any region to break away from any state in the union....it takes a major actor of congress and as we've seen they aren't exactly the most "get it done" type of crowd.

Just compete. Find a niche & work it to death. NYC is a great, gigantic whale to suck dry. Why not? They do the same thing to Long Island on a regular basis. NYC is a vortex that would leave the surrounding areas with NOTHING unless they manned up, grew a back bone, played hardball & forcefully taken what they needed. Without that attitude, you'll get nothing in this region. Nothing.
I love New Jersey for being the villain in this area. Love it.
Let NYC hate NJ. No strings attached when it comes to snaking business, educated persons & resources. LI seems suckered into the notion that they are part of the club. Not so much.
Always remember NYers are paying millions for a front row view of ....New Jersey...
Sorry, we can't afford anymore welfare states being added to the list.
