The Huntington Town Board has adopted a resolution scheduling a public hearing on a proposed change in the Zoning Code that would legalize the construction of multiple-family dwellings atop buildings in at least 25 sites that are currently zoned C1.

I have been working in Huntington since the late 70's and remember people snickering when I shared I was from Bay Shore. Little did they know what the future held.

This has been in the works for quite some time. The idea is to promote smart growth in downtown areas by allowing apartments above stores.

I'm a little confused by the caption of your post? Are you saying that Huntington is out in the country as in rural?

I'm all for it if they're legal apartments! I'd love to see Huntington Station & Village become something like a "Hoboken" of sorts.

Yeah, it's too bad we don't live and sleep in houses and beds that still have wheels on them like you do.
