Yes, its easy enough for someone to do on their own. Not really hard to turn off the lights and see where the light is coming in from the walls (I have an unfinished basement). But I had other work that needed to be done, and sealing the cracks and holes was secondary.
I had hundreds of them a couple of years ago. Go an exterminator who sprayed around the perimeter in and out of the house. Since then, I never saw one again and only have 4 or 5 in a glue trap. Not bad for 2 years.
