Who fixes TVs in your home? In Nassau County?

I haven't heard of a good TV repair guy that makes House Calls in years.

How old is the TV? There is not much to fix these days, not like the old days where every tv had tubes and every pharmacy had a tube tester.

It's only 2 years old but the warranty is expired and it's too heavy for me to carry somewhere. It's also mounted on a wall. I would like someone to come to my home and fix it. It's dead. I've tried everything I could think of.

OMG.. I had forgotten about those tube testers! As a kid I found them fascinating.

I recall going to the pharmacy with my dad and he would let me turn the button and he always said "Buzz". The kids today don't know what they are missing. LOL.

After warranty=trash

TV repair men have gone the way of the blacksmith, the alchemist, the witch doctor, the economy, the dinosaurs, and dignity.

What brand and size TV is it?? Like I said try Geek squad or just buy another. It might be cheaper to buy a new one then to have it fixed. I would have gotten and extended warranty if it were available. Call the company who made the TV, maybe they can help over the phone.

First! Unplug it from the wall and plug in a lamp to see if the outlet has power. If there's no power check the circuit breaker. Then plug it back in and make sure the other end of the cord is firmly plugged into the television - they can come out during cleaning. Do the same with the cable box. Make sure the cable that goes from the TV to the cable box is secure at both ends. Now make sure you have the "input" correctly selected on the TV menu that matches where the cable from the box is plugged into the TV. If you're trying to turn it on with the remote, check the batteries and also try the buttons on the set itself.

Then, look up the prices of a new set and decide if it's worth even the minimum service charge to have somebody come out. That will probably run at least $125. Good luck.
