How much do you tip the guys who do your move? Since our moves will be done on two different days (out of the old house on one day and into the new house on another), do you tip twice? I don't want to overtip. On the other hand, I've seen some of these guys work really hard. Any advice would be appreciated.
P.S. Please don't start a debate about tipping on this thread. I'm going to tip regardless. I just want to know what amount(s) would be fair.

How long/how many people per day?
IMO $10-20/pp depending on effort is pretty good. If they busted ass getting your stuff in/out in a safe manner, a little more may be in order.
At least $20 each. Last move, I gave them $40 each, it was two guys who took very good care of our stuff. They weren't expecting it and it was appreciated.
I had four guys and I gave them $20 each. They were very careful with my stuff and weren't rushing around just trying to load up and get on the road (they were taking everything into storage). I think we tipped the same amount when they brought everything to the new house.
If I thought they weren't doing a good job I would have given less, or nothing at all.
Why? Its their job, they are getting paid. Why a tip? Unless they went above and beyond what is expected? Sorry, I just don't get the whole tipping thing. I work for a large employer who pays me well. I provide a service to customers EVERY day. I turn down tips EVERY day. I get paid to do my job....why should I get a tip?

Is it really that hard for people to keep off topic thoughts to themselves?
Same goes for people who don't really contribute to the thread
