Hello All, I purchased a house in the town of brookhaven in April 2017. Prior owners received enhanced star exemption and we are still receiving it. Not a rebate check but the actual exemption lowering the tax bill. I checked the website and and it still shows it today. We are not seniors nor do we qualify with income. Is it possible the town can/will recoup the funds? I've heard the 1st year there can be carry over but this is two years and counting.
Tax bill and interactive website shows my name since shortly after purchasing.
