Hi All,
We started a home renovation in Jan 2019 with a licensed contractor. After 6 months, we found out the permits were pulled due to checks bouncing (contractors checks). We've encountered numerous issues with subs, and materials purchased and at this point, there are too many lies and mistrust. Payment were made to contractor and not used properly.
This was a funded project whereby there was an agreed upon phase completion and payment thereafter. All is documented with contract and contractor has breached. We figured if we prepay a small amount, things would get moving quicker
At this point, I'm wondering if there's anything TOH/Nassau can help me with. I looked into the consumer affairs but after reading the comments from another board, I'm not sure they'll be quick to answer.
Asking for Friend
Thank you,JS
