My house is in the village of Roslyn. Two nights ago, during the wind and rain, a huge tree branch fell on top of my den and destroyed it - broken walls, windows, roof, etc. Do I need permits???

Need to check with town but I would think not if you are just restoring exactly as it was before.

Not if it was a bear den. You have homeowners insurance do it legit as no reason not to as insurance is paying.
